OVERVIEW
FROM CANALSIDE TO DELAWARE PARK BIKE TOUR
The Whole Damn City is a comprehensive journey that lives up to its name by covering a substantial portion of the entire city…by bike! This unique adventure offers perspectives that are hard to capture by car, providing special views from overpasses, along bike trails, and through scenic greenways.
We’ll start at Canalside, winding through downtown gems such as Buffalo City Hall, the Electric Tower, and the Guaranty Building. Learn the narratives of bitter rivalries, economic shifts, and the visionary community activists who shaped Buffalo's identity.
We’ll continue to Frederick Law Olmsted's parks and parkway system, a network of greenways connecting through neighborhoods to North Buffalo. Journey into the cultural district, hitting stops including Delaware Park, Hoyt Lake, and the newly-reopened AKG Museum. Continue with a lap around the Meadow at Delaware Park and the iconic Darwin Martin House, a masterpiece designed by the legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
Heading back to Canalside, you’ll have the option to recharge with lunch at the Five Points neighborhood, with a selection of bakeries and restaurants (not included in the ticket price). Finally, head on the bike path along the Niagara River, exploring special vantage points that give a thorough understanding of the city, its people, and its social history.
